Margeson Theater | By William Shakespeare
Directed by Jim Helsinger
"If I be waspish, best beware my sting."
Sweet-tempered daddy's girl Bianca can have her pick of suitors—but not until her sister, the fiery-tongued Kate, is married off. Rising to the challenge is fortune-seeking Petruchio, but can he match Kate jab for jab? Set in the rootin'-tootin' Wild West, Shakespeare's most outrageous comedy bursts onto the Margeson Theater stage in a vibrant, high-energy battle of the sexes with a couple hell-bent on confusing and outwitting each other right up to the play's surprising conclusion.
Parental Guidelines
The Taming of the Shrew is a bawdy romp with sexual innuendo that may be physicalized on stage. The play may be best suited for teenagers who are able to handle the suggestiveness inherent in Shakespeare's text.
