ESSENTIAL ACTING TRAINING (EAT)
For the adult actor, we offer a series of classes designed to prepare actors to succeed in the profession, focusing on skills that are basic, yet essential, ongoing techniques in the actors' toolbox.
The Actor
- Dates: April 8 - 22, 2013 (3 weeks)
- Time: Mondays, 6 - 10 p.m.
- Tuition: $150
Focusing on breath, voice and body awareness, this class is an introduction to the art of acting, as well as an excellent re-boot for the seasoned actor seeking to reconnect with his or her artform. Actors will experience group exercises and prepare scenes using Uta Hagen's techniques. [register now]The Character

- Time: Mondays, 6 - 10 p.m.

Exploring age, time, status, and circumstances actors, will be given techniques to build a character from the inside out, using a variety of Viola Spolin exercises. Students will be expected to learn a short two-minute monologue.The Scene

This class is for students looking to explore the skills and dynamics of working with a scene partner. We will focus on active listening and playing a short scene with objectives, obstacles, tactics and bold choices using Stanislavski techniques. [register now]
ADVANCED SCENE STUDY AND MONOLOGUE WORKOUT
This class for the experienced actor will focus on scene and monologue work chosen by the actor and instructor. Useful as a rehearsal tool and audition preparation, it may be repeated as a part of an actor's ongoing training. It will involve movement, improvisation, and exercises that will push the working actor forward to break through the obstacles they may be experiencing in their work.
Auditing: Students may audit a class for a $10 fee, which will be deducted from the class fee upon joining.
